Colour night vision, human-only alerts: what the Rs 2,699 CEYE bullet camera gets right
A review of the Consistent CEYE Series Wi-Fi bullet camera found its colour night vision and human-detection alerts performed well for a camera priced at Rs 2,699.
For a security camera priced at Rs 2,699, the feature list on the Consistent 3MP Smart Wi-Fi Bullet Camera CEYE Series is comprehensive, according to a review by TOI Tech Desk. One standout during testing was the All Time Color Technology, which records colour footage even in low-light conditions instead of switching to grainy black-and-white video at night.
The Smart Human Detection feature also performed well in the review, mostly notifying users only when a person was detected rather than sending alerts for movement caused by trees or passing animals. This reduced unnecessary notifications, with motion and human detection alerts reaching the reviewer’s phone within a few seconds through the CEYE app.
The camera, model CT-CM-BW3M, includes 3MP Full HD recording, IP66 weather resistance, two-way audio, Alexa support, cloud recording and support for microSD cards up to 256GB. During the day, the 3MP resolution produced sharp footage that made it easy to identify people, vehicles and packages.
Setup was straightforward: after mounting the camera and connecting it to power, pairing with the CEYE mobile app took a few minutes via a QR code scan and connection to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The two-way audio feature allowed conversations with visitors or delivery people without opening the door, though the review noted it is not as loud or clear as a dedicated video doorbell.
The review also flagged that the 10x digital zoom loses image quality when zoomed in significantly, and that the app could benefit from a more polished interface. Even so, it concluded the camera is a practical choice for monitoring homes, offices, shops or parking areas at its price point.
