A Navy commander told Congress this UFO was beyond anything we’ll build in 20 years

Retired Commander David Fravor testified before a US House hearing that the object he encountered in 2004 was beyond known aviation technology.

In July 2023, retired US Navy Commander David Fravor appeared before a US House hearing on unidentified anomalous phenomena. He told lawmakers that what he and other pilots witnessed during a 2004 encounter appeared to be beyond known aviation technology.

‘I think what we experienced was well beyond the material science and the capabilities that we had at the time, that we have currently, or that we’re going to have in the next 10 to 20 years,’ he testified, as quoted by CBS News.

The encounter took place on November 14, 2004, when Fravor was leading an F/A-18F squadron from the USS Nimitz during a training exercise off San Diego. He and fellow pilot Lt. Cmdr Alex Dietrich were sent to investigate radar contacts, and found a small white object, resembling a Tic Tac mint, hovering above disturbed water with no wings, markings or exhaust plume. Four crew members in two aircraft watched it for around five minutes before it accelerated away and vanished from view.

The Pentagon has not said the object was extraterrestrial, and officials note that many reported unidentified aerial phenomena are eventually explained as ordinary objects. But the 2004 ‘Tic Tac’ encounter remains unresolved, given the number of trained witnesses, radar tracking and infrared footage involved.
