Emirates Doubles Down on India: A380 to Delhi, Premium Economy in Six Cities

Emirates is expanding its footprint in India on two fronts: introducing its flagship Airbus A380 on the Dubai–Delhi route from October 25, and rolling out Premium Economy seating on flights to six Indian cities by the end of the same month.

The A380 will replace one of the airline’s daily Dubai–Delhi services, bringing along its four-class cabin configuration that includes Premium Economy. The other three daily flights on the route will continue operating on retrofitted four-class Boeing 777 aircraft. Delhi becomes the third Indian city with regular A380 service, following Mumbai and Bengaluru.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said the expansion reflects the airline’s continued commitment to the Indian market, and that Emirates is widening Premium Economy availability across the country as part of the same push.

By the end of October, Premium Economy will be offered on Emirates flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Kochi, with the airline saying nearly half of its scheduled weekly India flights will carry the cabin class by that point.

Emirates said the changes are a response to growing passenger demand on India–Dubai routes, with further service enhancements planned as it continues to invest in the Indian market.
