For generations a Delhi summer staple, Kuremal’s Kulfi now has a Wimbledon edition

Kuremal's Kulfi, a heritage Delhi dessert brand, has introduced a Wimbledon-inspired strawberry-and-cream flavour to mark the tennis tournament.

Vishal Sharma, managing director of Kuremal’s Kulfi, says the brand has been part of Delhi’s summer traditions for generations. ‘For generations, we have been part of Delhi’s summer traditions, and we are delighted to introduce a kulfi inspired by one of Wimbledon’s most recognisable customs. We hope the flavour offers tennis fans and our customers an opportunity to enjoy a familiar summer favourite with a Wimbledon-inspired twist,’ he says.

As Wimbledon drew to a close, the heritage Delhi dessert shop served up a limited-edition strawberry-and-cream kulfi at its Connaught Place outlet, inspired by the Championships’ iconic strawberries-and-cream snack, which has been a Wimbledon tradition since the late 19th century.

A brand representative said it has been rewarding to see the partnership described as a meeting of two heritage brands, showing how global sporting traditions can be meaningfully localised while remaining true to their origins.

The kulfi, which features pieces of strawberry throughout, was launched during both the Wimbledon Championships and Delhi’s peak kulfi season, and a Wimbledon-themed standee outside the shop has become a popular photo spot for visitors.
